water – athena

An unseen force,
a distant sound,
droplets of water,
let them wash my guard down,
let them melt away my lenses
and my masks.

Open eyes after long,
see the world in all its forms.
What beauty this Earth holds,
if only you took time to behold;
The Sahara with its relentless heat covers one part,
tempest blizzard laden poles the other,
what beauty it is, to exist together.

I shall cry:
not of sadness, but of love;
let the two liquids mix,
and I shall heal,
transcend all my fears.

It’s, perhaps, an attempt to reignite
the fire,
The flames in you.
Like the lights in the depth,
hues of brilliance
and here bellow
lie the mysteries:
creatures whispering,
waves twisting
It is so captivating.

On this earth,
the waters gush incessantly, freely, with power;
The smashing and stampeding creates secluded spumes giving it its own serenity,
some move swiftly, stealing anything in its path
like tentacles spiraling out into abysmal nothing:
it lives with maddening hunger.

This is my quiet place
below the norm
like outer space,
an alien form.
