I became a bystander in my own life.
Hours passed by, the clock kept ticking.
People came, people left.
Some to talk, some just smiled, others brushed away,
Some cared and some just happened to stay.
Ideas were thought, words were spoken, actions were done.
Hearts fell in love, souls were found,
Sometimes sadness took over unannounced.
The sun rose and the sun set,
The moon came and the moon left.
Clouds brought rain, brought snow, brought hail,
Flowers bloomed and the leaves got frail.
Fights were fought, all too present feelings were said not.
Tears were shed, on most nights happiness came from jam on bread.
Moments were felt, experiences occurred,
Some worth holding onto, others absurd.
Friends grew closer, lovers apart,
Yes, they didn’t get it but exams were hard.
Bodies were labelled- fit, fat, fine,
Did they even realise when they crossed the line?
So much happened, so much drama,
Felt like I was standing in a panorama.
Penguins mated, a girl got her hair dyed,
I became a bystander in my own life.
