It’s like the difference between,
A fiery summer day,
Where you can lay,
Let the wind breathe you in,
And get lost within
And
The dead middle of winter,
Dry lips and condensed windows,
Engulfing glacial meadows,
When the sun hasn’t been out for days,
And you can’t understand if you
Miss the burn
Or crave the cold.
It’s, perhaps, an attempt to reignite
The fire,
The flames in you
Like the lights in the depth,
Hues of brilliance
And here bellow
Lie the mysteries
Creatures whispering
Waves twisting
It is so captivating.
This is my quiet place
Below the norm
Like outer space,
An alien form.
Underwater-
The outside world silenced.
I feel secure,
Currents hold me tight,
To the sway of life.
I feel unbreakable,
Like the water’s surface,
You are warned to not go deeper
And yet all you can do
Is a risk to dive in.
Drown yourself below the depths
Within your ocean of breath.
I exhale my past
Body going in steeper,
As a current pulls me deeper.
Sinking down,
Releasing time,
I look around-
This moment is mine.
